ANNOUNCEMENT MADE BY LEADERSHIP ON 8/23/2026
God is at work in our church, in our city and in our world. We have been blessed to see more and more people become disciples of Jesus and experience the blessing of life in God’s Kingdom. We believe this is our mission. We are called to partner with God in reaching more and more people with the good news of Jesus in a variety of creative ways. Many of those people are not here yet and there is work still to do.
MacArthur Park’s mission is to “Love God, Love People and to Change the World.” This means that each day we are called to love the city, share the good news and make disciples. We believe we have been called to expand the Kingdom. This is the vision of leadership.
As we have seen over the last few months, many have come to Christ and are living in God’s Kingdom. Our auditorium is filled and for this we are grateful. But our work is not done. Our church family will continue to grow as we minister to people in this city, share the gospel and make followers of Jesus. And as we make disciples, we will need to make room for disciples.
With this vision in our heart, your shepherds prayerfully believe that one of our first steps is to create more room in our times of worship by expanding to two worship assemblies beginning Sunday, September 20. There will be two, identical worship assemblies with Bible class in between. While the men leading the assemblies will be different, Mark will preach at both worship times, we will sing the same songs and follow the same order.
On September 20, the first assembly will be from 8:30 am to 9:30 am The second assembly will be from 10:45 am to 11:45 am Bible classes will meet between the two worship times from 9:45 - 10:30 am.
We recognize that change can be difficult, but the Shepherds wholeheartedly believe that God blesses His people who step out in faith to share the good news of Jesus to all people. Let us remember these words of Jesus:
“From everyone who has been given much, much will be required, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be asked.” Luke 12:48
